Editorial & Case Review Policy

Missing Alerts publishes missing-person awareness information to support responsible public sharing. Cases may be reviewed before publication where possible, especially where information is sensitive, incomplete or submitted by a third party.

Information may come from police appeals, family members, guardians, verified submitters, public appeals, trusted sources or case owners. We may edit formatting, reduce unnecessary personal detail, or decline content that appears unsafe, false, exploitative, abusive or unsupported.

Missing Alerts is not a police reporting service and does not replace official emergency or missing-person reporting channels. Emergencies, sightings and urgent information should be reported to police or emergency services first.

We support correction and removal requests. Families, guardians, case owners, relevant authorities and affected people can ask us to correct details, update a case, reduce private information or remove a listing where appropriate.

When a person is found or a case is resolved, information may be privacy-reduced where appropriate to protect the dignity and safety of the person and their family.
